Leiataualesa Komisi Koria is a Partner of Clarke Ey Koria Lawyers. His practice spans dispute resolution and advisory work in commercial and public sectors. Komisi’s expertise includes tax, civil and criminal litigation, energy, international trade and government law.
Known for his client commitment, Komisi draws on private sector know-how and public law experience to deliver practical solutions for his clients, whether in a commercial or government setting.
Before joining the firm in 2016, Komisi was the Samoan Government’s chief tax law adviser in the Ministry for Revenue. Komisi played a key role developing major legislative revisions and simplifications of Samoa’s income tax, customs and VAGST regimes as well as advising on international tax commitments. He also has significant experience as a public prosecutor, conducting complex fraud and serious crime trials in Samoa’s superior and appellate courts.
Komisi is recognised as a Leading Lawyer for the Pacific Islands in Chambers Asia-Pacific rankings. He is noted as a prominent dispute resolution practitioner who clients report is “prompt, professional and timely”.
Komisi holds the matai (chiefly) title of Leiataualesa from the village of Faleu, Manono.
